ABSTRACT: This article examines the growth of virtual crimes against children and adolescents in Brazil in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context, highlighting the legal responsibility of parents and guardians to protect young people in this new digital era. The research addresses how social isolation, intensified by the pandemic, may have contributed to the increase in these cybercrimes. The main objective of this analysis is to understand how isolation conditions affected the incidence of virtual crimes against children and young people, in addition to identifying the most common types of crimes, analyzing the factors that drive this growth and proposing strategies to mitigate such occurrences. The methodology used consists of bibliographic and documentary research, complemented by the analysis of statistical data and review of relevant cases. This qualitative study incorporates an in-depth analysis of current legislation, relying on sources such as SaferNet, CAPES, Google Scholar and SciELO to support the discussions. In this way, it aims not only to present a diagnosis on the increase in cybercrimes directed at minors during and after the pandemic, but also explore the consequences of these crimes for victims. Furthermore, it is intended to discuss awareness measures and legislative changes necessary to strengthen the protection of young people in Brazil against such threats. Through this investigation, we seek to contribute to reducing child and youth cybercrime rates and promoting a safer digital environment for children and adolescents.
