Therefore, this research focuses on the role of the veterinarian in vaccinating dogs and cats in Brazil, with the main questions being: what is the role of the veterinarian in the vaccination cycle of these animals and how much the population knows about the importance of main vaccines for dogs and cats? Based on this, the general objective of this work is to discuss the importance of vaccination for companion animals (dogs and cats) in Brazil, while the specific objectives are: to raise awareness about the need for vaccination and its impacts on the animal's life, to present the main recommended vaccines for dogs and cats, clarify the importance of the Veterinarian's assessment for correct vaccination of animals. The methodology approach will be bibliographic in nature, consisting of articles, theses, dissertations and documents on the subject. The expected results are to raise awareness among veterinarians and owners about the importance of vaccinating their pets.
