This study addressed the implementation of active peer instruction methodology in the contemporary educational context, both in face-to-face and online environments. The problematization focused on the challenges of integrating this pedagogical approach into current practices, especially in the face of the increasing digitalization of education. The general objective was to identify effective strategies to overcome such obstacles, promoting collaborative and interactive learning that took advantage of available technologies. Through a literature review, the development of the work highlighted the need to prepare students and teachers to adopt this methodology and the crucial role of technological tools in facilitating interaction between peers. The conclusions reiterated the feasibility and effectiveness of peer-to-peer instruction, pointing to the need for specific strategies that would enable its successful implementation, including teacher training and the effective use of online collaboration platforms. This study highlighted the importance of continuing research to improve pedagogical practices and adapt them to the demands of the 21st century.
