Cultural tourism in the Northeast has been growing in recent years, especially during the June period. In this sense, visiting museums could be included in the itinerary of these celebrations so important for the valorization of Northeastern culture. In Campina Grande-PB, the Museum of Popular Art of Paraíba (MAPP) provides visitors with exhibitions that depict local culture, practices, beliefs and popular knowledge and highlights the work of renowned artisans and artists. This article sought to identify the point of view of visitors to Saint John in Campina Grande-PB on the importance of museums as a means of cultural preservation and appreciation of the June festivities in that city. Thus, the focus of the work is quanti-qualitative with objectives of an exploratory and descriptive character. Survey research was chosen as a tool for obtaining data. In the results, it was found that all research participants have already visited the aforementioned city in the June period, and most of them, more than four times. The data revealed that the tourist prefers to visit the municipality during Saint John, attracted by the artists' concerts in People’s Park, a favorite space of those surveyed. In addition, it was identified that all participants know or have heard of MAPP, but stated that there is a lack of appreciation of museums in the June period. It is hoped that this research will lead to a reflection on how the MAAP can be more appreciated during the June festivities, since it exposes the Northeastern culture and the real meaning of Saint John.
