The ancient phenomenon of hearing voices has been the subject of different interpretations throughout the history of humanity. However, in contemporary times, it is often associated with mental disorders, which leads to stigmatization for those who experience it. Therefore, this postgraduate conclusion article seeks to investigate the perception of voices in the absence of external sound stimuli, exploring its cultural and social interpretations and its relationship with mental health, with the aim of delinking the phenomenon from pathological stigmatization. An exploratory research methodological approach of a qualitative nature was adopted, using a bibliographic review to support the theoretical framework and deductive method for data analysis and interpretation. The results indicate that groups of voice hearers can help restore quality of life, promoting autonomy and offering a space free from stigma, which contributes to the individual's mental well-being.
