DETERMINATION OF WIIND POTENTIAL IN THE SOUTHERN REGION OF BRAZIL

Abstract

  The objective of this work is the determination of the wind potential of the southern region of Brazil from the data collection, which were obtained through the National Operator (ONS), the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and the available Atlas of Wind Potential. The analysis was developed based on consolidated data from research carried out by institutions in the southern region, which together with the state government of the region seek to leverage wind power generation as a determinant source in the energy matrix of the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
