Abstract

Child support goes beyond simply guaranteeing food. It also covers education, health, leisure, culture and the dignity of the benefited children. It is mandatory that food is provided to children until they reach the age of majority, at 18, and even after that age, if they are attending college. Law No. 5,478/68 regulates food actions, providing greater agility in processes. Through this law, the judge can set provisional maintenance, which must be retroactive to the date of summons and be paid until the final decision is made. This work aims to address child support, focusing on children, seeking to guarantee decent living conditions for them within our current State, and also inform the population about this issue that has become increasingly frequent in recent decades.
