The transsexualization process represents one of the advances in the scope of health policies, especially in the context of the Unified Health System (SUS). This is an area of interdisciplinary care, which demands comprehensive, welcoming, and respectful attention, in which medical interventions have a lot to contribute. Objectives: Identify the challenges related to the transsexualization process in Methodology:the SUS scenario and discuss the implications for medical practice. Integrative Literature Review of a descriptive, and transversal nature, carried out through documentary research, with access to databases and records from the Hospital Information System. Results/Discussion: In total, 13 studies made up the review, with three axes of discussion being listed: perioperative care related to the transsexualization process; transsexualizing process in the context of the SUS; quality of life of trans people after the transsexualization process. Conclusion: Understanding the needs and challenges faced by the trans community is essential to guide effective medical practices that respect the rights of the trans people in the SUS scenario.
