Abstract

The present work aims to analyze, through a literature review, the challenges of aging in contemporary times. The bibliographical research methodology was adopted to reflect on aging as one of the main central challenges of the 21st century. The increase in the elderly population is widely known, a phenomenon that cuts across different societies. This phenomenon needs attention and scientific research. Population aging thus becomes a major social, biological, political, economic and cultural challenge to be faced by society, within a heterogeneous, natural, individual and collective context.
