Immunotherapy and targeted therapies represent significant advances in cancer treatment, offering new therapeutic strategies with the potential to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for patients. This study reviewed the current literature on the topic, highlighting the effectiveness of these approaches in a variety of cancer types and identifying important challenges to be overcome. The results showed that immunotherapy, especially with immune checkpoint inhibitors, and targeted therapies, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors and PARP inhibitors, have shown promise in treating different types of cancer. However, treatment resistance, immunological toxicity, and identification of predictive biomarkers remain important challenges. Multidisciplinary collaboration and the development of combined therapeutic strategies are essential to optimize the use of these therapies and improve patient outcomes. This study highlights the continued importance of research and development in this constantly evolving area, with the aim of achieving a revolution in cancer treatment.
