Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a cultural, religious and social practice that persists in many parts of the world, despite efforts to eradicate it. This article addresses FGM, highlighting its origins, types, associated beliefs, psychological impact, and human rights issues. It explores combat strategies such as education, involvement of religious leaders, cultural alternatives, and ethical challenges. It presents successful case studies and emphasizes the importance of a global approach while respecting cultural diversity.
