EXPERIENCES AND CHALLENGES OF RADIOLOGY PROFESSIONALS WHEN DEALING WITH CHEMOTHERAPY PATIENTS IN BRAZILIAN TERRITORY FROM 2018 TO 2023

Abstract

Radiology professionals face many challenges when dealing with their patients, especially those who are undergoing chemotherapy treatments. As much as radiology has advanced, there are still many discussions about the experiences of these professionals. Faced with this problem, the key question for this research emerges: How can radiology professionals act in the treatment of chemotherapy patients? Faced with this problem, the general objective of this study is to explore the experiences and challenges of radiology professionals working in Brazilian territory during the period from 2018 to 2023 when dealing with chemotherapy patients. And through specific objectives, describe the global history of radiology in the face of cancer diagnosis, identify the challenges when dealing with patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in the Brazilian context and point out the importance of sensitive and empathetic care for chemotherapy patients. To construct this study, bibliographical research was used, which adopted a qualitative approach, which allowed an in-depth understanding of the experiences and challenges of radiology professionals when dealing with patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This approach values the subjectivity, perceptions and experiences of the participants, providing a more detailed and contextualized analysis of the phenomenon under study. Therefore, it is expected that the results of this research can positively impact the quality of life and well-being of cancer patients, in addition to providing support for the implementation of actions that promote more humane and effective care within the scope of oncological radiology.
