In the school space, much is said about the assessment of learning and the main types that exist because it is crucially related to the construction of students' knowledge and helps teachers in teaching actions -pedagogical in the classroom. The research addressed here has the following problem: How important is it to understand the learning assessment process in pedagogical management? To discuss this question, the main objective of this work was to identify and characterize the types of evaluation involved in the evaluation process. The methodology was based on bibliographical research, being prepared from Google Scholar databases, through the reading of scientific articles, books, theses, which allowed reviews and records to be carried out in order to interpret the approaches discussed by the referenced theorists, which among them are: LUCKESI (2011), LIBÂNEO (1994), PERRENOUD (1999), HOFFMANN (1993), SANT'ANA (2014), among others. The study showed that there are difficulties in the pedagogical area when the issue is to evaluate, as it must be understood that, according to the authors, evaluating is not just about judging and in the end comparing numbers, but when carried out in an organized and systematic way, it guarantees the teacher strategies that promote concrete student learning. Therefore, the relevance of understanding the learning assessment process in the pedagogical context is concluded, as well as the assessment types, which, once worked together, contribute to students' learning.
