Polypharmacy in the elderly represents an important public health issue, which can increase the risk of hospitalizations, iatrogenesis and deaths. That said, the following research analyzes the implications that polypharmacy has on the quality of life of the elderly and the importance of promoting health education interventions on the risks and ways to avoid exposure to this condition. In view of the above, actions such as a waiting room and the creation of material that assists elderly people in organizing medication registration were developed and offered to the population using the service through an understanding survey at the Alto da Maravilha health unit in Juazeiro-BA.
