Combination therapy, involving the union of two or more active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in a single medicine or treatment, represents a significant therapeutic strategy in modern medicine. This approach aims to treat specific medical conditions more effectively by addressing different aspects of the disease and minimizing the risk of drug resistance. This work explores how combining medications has become an increasingly common practice to improve treatment effectiveness and decrease side effects. Based on articles by renowned professionals, we discuss the use of dual-release capsules, which contain two layers of medication - an outer layer and an inner layer - designed to release drugs at different times during digestion. Throughout this study, we will analyze the objectives, advantages and advantages of this methodology, emphasizing its relevance for the treatment of chronic diseases. The importance of innovation and continuous research in the pharmaceutical area is highlighted. to advance more efficient and safe therapies.
