Abstract

The literature review in question aimed to deepen the understanding of teleworking as contemporary characteristics. To achieve this objective, several aspects related to teleworking were explored, starting with its conceptualization. The analysis sought not only to outline what constitutes teleworking, but also to understand its nuances and evolutions over time, considering the technological and social transformations that influence this work practice. Furthermore, the study addressed the distinctive characteristics of teleworking, highlighting aspects such as flexible working hours, worker autonomy and the technologies used to enable this modality. When examining the standards and laws related to teleworking, the objective was to identify the legal requirements that govern this form of service provision, taking into account aspects such as labor rights, work safety and other relevant regulations. Teleworking was also explored during the pandemic and the new reform. A crucial point of the literature review was the analysis of the teleworking interface with companies that chose to incorporate this practice into their operations. We investigated how organizations deal with the challenges and benefits of teleworking, as well as the strategies adopted to ensure the effectiveness and quality of remote work. By compiling and synthesizing information from various bibliographic sources, the study sought to offer a comprehensive and informed view of teleworking, contributing to the understanding of the complexities involved in these specificities and helping to reflect on the practices adopted by companies that seek to integrate this modality into their business models.
