The present article addresses a contemporary and highly significant challenge: the enforcement of traffic safety laws. More specifically, the study focuses on the interaction between the Brazilian Traffic Code and the role of the Military Police, with an emphasis on analyzing the impact of the new Brazilian Traffic Code on driver behavior. This investigation examines the elements that establish the fundamental principles guiding the actions of the officers responsible for enforcing these laws. It is worth noting that Law 9,503/97, which replaced the previous National Traffic Code, is not solely aimed at punishing or imposing fines but has been restructured with the primary purpose of educating Brazilian citizens about their role in the context of traffic.
