Chemical dependency has become a public health problem and issue. According to the WHO (2023), around 0.5 million people die each year due to substance abuse. One of the forms of treatment for the disorder is Therapeutic Communities (CT) and Inpatient Centers (CI), where the patient is removed from social life so that external interference is limited until he is prepared to deal with them and return to work. society. The objective of this work was to verify whether and what actions are identified that include preparation for the resocialization of patients hospitalized for treatment of chemical dependency. The methodology used was bibliographical review, as it provides access to up-to-date scientific knowledge. The LILACS, PePSIC, SciELO-Brasil and Google Scholar databases were used - at an exploratory level - and descriptors were located in DeSC/MeSH, together with Boolean operators to search for the results of this work between the period from 2018 to 2023. They were identified 5 results articles, which identified the variables that contribute to resocialization: professional training, development of coping resources, strengthening family ties, relapse prevention and development of a life project. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that there are few studies published on this very complex process of social reintegration after a period of hospitalization, and it is suggested that institutions can think of interventions that prepare the patient for this moment, using what they already have. scientific evidence to help these people and their resumption of life, as well as the publication of more works that address this demand.
