THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PRESERVATIVES IN COSMETICS: GUARANTEING THE SAFETY AND DURABILITY OF BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Abstract

The cosmetics industry is one of the most dynamic and constantly evolving sectors today, with a wide range of products that promise to enhance our appearance and boost our confidence. Behind the diversity of colors, textures and fragrances, there is a crucial element that many consumers may not realize, but which plays a vital role in the quality and safety of these products: preservatives. The objective of this work was to analyze the effectiveness of preservatives in cosmetics, highlighting their importance in maintaining the safety, quality and durability of these products. The present study is an integrative literature review, based on a bibliographic study, which aims to achieve a deep understanding of a certain phenomenon based on previous studies. Research into the effectiveness of preservatives in cosmetics plays a crucial role not only in the field of aesthetics, but also from a pharmaceutical perspective. The link between the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries lies in the safety and effectiveness of the products used by consumers on a daily basis.
