The objective of this article is to analyze the legal impacts of cancel culture and virtual lynching on fundamental rights. Cancel culture refers to the practice of publicly disavowing individuals or groups due to behavior considered socially unacceptable. Virtual lynching, in turn, represents intense and hostile online persecution against a person. The qualitative approach of the methodology is based on exploratory studies, involving a bibliographical review of relevant authors and a documentary analysis of specific legislation, presented concisely or in full. This approach aims to improve understanding of the topic of study, being a useful tool for both students and legal professionals. It is concluded that cancel culture and virtual lynching represent complex challenges for the protection of fundamental rights in the digital age. An adequate response to these phenomena requires a multifaceted approach, involving not only adaptations to legislation, but also coordinated efforts between different sectors of society to promote an online environment that reconciles freedom of expression with respect for individual rights.
