THE MISUSE OF ANABOLIC AGENTS FOR AESTHETIC PURPOSES

Abstract

This work has the general objective of analyzing and raising awareness about the negative impacts of the misuse of anabolic steroids on human health. The misuse of anabolic steroids, that is, without a medical prescription and adequate supervision, is illegal and can be extremely harmful to health. To achieve the proposed objectives, exploratory research will be carried out. Bibliographic review: An extensive search will be carried out in scientific databases, to identify studies, scientific articles and theses related to the misuse of anabolic steroids. The literature review will provide up-to-date and well-founded information on the physiological aspects, side effects, psychological impacts and legal implications of the misuse of these substances.Document analysis: Legislation, regulations and standards related to the use of anabolic steroids will be analyzed, such as the determinations of the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) and the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM), in order to understand the legal and ethical implications of this practice.In summary, misuse of anabolic steroids may offer short-term benefits but is associated with significant long-term health risks. It is important to seek appropriate medical advice and educational information to make informed decisions about its use, if necessary, and understand the risks involved.
