It addresses the expansion of information and communication technologies and how library practices have been changing to meet the new informational and educational needs of their audience, expanding services beyond information units. It seeks to answer the question: how does the librarian's role in using the podcast as an informational resource for reading mediation practices occur? Its general objective is to highlight the mediational practices developed by the members of the Leitura com Afeto podcast. To achieve this purpose, the following specific objectives were defined: a) identify the leading role of the Librarianship professional in mediating reading; and b) describe the reading mediations carried out by the members of the Leitura com Afeto podcast. Regarding methodological aspects, it establishes descriptive research through case studies. A questionnaire was administered to the podcast's librarians, with the aim of identifying whether and how the librarian supports and/or contributes to the mediations carried out in the episodes. The members of Leitura com Afeto believe that humanizing action and interference, social responsibility and an environment of comfort and belonging are fundamental for librarianship professionals to carry out mediational practice in reading in a qualitative way. Regarding the purpose of analytical inference, the description of the reading mediations carried out by the podcast members allowed an understanding of how librarianship occurs in the digital sphere, without the physical presence of the reader. In this sense, the dialogical, ethical and aesthetic dimensions are exercised in an essential way for the quality of the mediational process.
