Technological advancement has significantly transformed several aspects of our society, and the field of Criminal Law has been no exception. With the emergence of new technologies, such as the internet, mobile devices, artificial intelligence and blockchain, new challenges and opportunities for the legal system also arise. Given this scenario, this research aims to investigate the intersection between Criminal Law and new technologies, in order to understand the legal implications resulting from these innovations. The central idea of this research is to analyze how new technologies have impacted Criminal Law, both in the field of crime prevention and investigation and in the application of criminal sanctions. The aim is to examine how the use of advanced technologies can influence the classification of crimes, the collection and preservation of evidence, the identification and tracking of offenders, as well as the development of more efficient and proportional punishment mechanisms. The research will seek to situate the topic within the general context of the area of Law, highlighting its current and future relevance. Considering the increasing use of new technologies in society, it is essential to understand the challenges and opportunities that arise in this field, in order to guarantee the effectiveness of the criminal system and the protection of individual rights. In short, the research reinforces the need for a legal environment that is adaptable and proactive in the face of technological changes, thus ensuring the protection of individual rights and the effectiveness of the criminal system in a world in constant technological evolution.
