It is widely known that in contemporary times, there is a growing need to adapt solutions that assist in the daily lives of residents in a household. Also, home automation has been growing significantly in recent years due to the conveniences offered by the advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT). As a result, home automation has ceased to be a luxury, becoming something capable of allowing greater control over a home, offering more security, comfort, and accessibility. Meanwhile, prototypes and simulations are valuable resources when it comes to assisting in the development of more complex projects and decision-making, allowing a better analysis of situations, parameters, and materials. Finally, this article aims to present the applicability of home automation and describe the development of a prototype designed to demonstrate how home automation can make a household's routine more practical directly from a smartphone, as well as providing greater autonomy in their daily tasks for people with disabilities and the elderly.
