Abstract

Measures to combat violence against women in recent years have gained due visibility due to the alarming number of complaints. The study deals with coping measures and measures to combat violence against women, to do so, objectively analyze the protective measures of the Maria da Penha Law and its applicability in the city of Teresina- PI, that is, how these measures help in combating violence. violence. The discussion is important as it encourages the debate that focuses on the protection of women who are at risk from the aggressor and, therefore, in their coexistence in society. Methodologically, scientific research was carried out, including bibliography, of an exploratory, qualitative nature, given that it deepened the aspects brought up by the doctrine in books and articles. In view of this, it is concluded that even with notes that protect and curb violence, whether in legislation or through public policies, even if there is a scenario of high domestic violence, it is necessary to implement the existing set of regulations to protect and safeguard women's lives.
