The current population growth is evident, resulting in the increased overcrowding of cities, impeding people's mobility. Therefore, the construction of new routes, particularly bridges connecting cities, becomes necessary. The purpose of this article is to address the formulation of proposals aimed at minimizing the impacts arising from the construction of new bridges, as well as to present suggestions for reducing environmental damage. This includes investigating the impacts caused by bridge construction, identifying civil responsibility, and presenting crucial ideas to mitigate environmental harm. Hence, this study is of utmost importance, not only to document the environmental impacts resulting from bridge construction but also to analyze the associated civil responsibility. The construction of the Salvador-Itaparica Bridge, a major project in the northeastern region of Brazil, where significant impacts can be observed, prompts reflection on both positive and negative aspects. The effective application of civil responsibility plays a crucial role in mitigating the negative environmental impacts resulting from bridge construction.
