HUMANIZED CARE IN RADIOTHERAPY: A STUDY ON PROSTATE CANCER IN BRAZIL

The treatment of prostate cancer in Brazil is still a huge taboo to be broken. In this way, humanized care is of great importance in radiotherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer in health units in Brazil. From this perspective, the following question was raised: how can the humanized care of radiology technologists be used in radiotherapy treatments for prostate cancer? Based on the above, the general objective is to analyze the radiotherapy procedure and how it can be humanized in the care of patients with prostate cancer. The specific objectives aimed to contextualize the treatment of prostate cancer in radiotherapy, understand the role of the radiology technologist in humanized care in radiotherapy and present methods to guarantee humanized care for patients with prostate cancer. The methodology used to carry out this article was based on bibliography, books and websites: Scielo, google cientifico, medline. The expected results contributed to humanization being used in radiotherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer, with the aim of alleviating the effects that radiotherapy procedures, such as treatment, can have on men's psychology is such a delicate phase.
