Water is a natural substance used for all basic needs and actions related to the development of populations, which are easily compromised by its scarcity, since ancient times and ancient civilizations, in view of this, water supply systems have emerged. which aim to distribute water within quality parameters, with adequate flow and pressure. The development of this system and all its constituent elements according to standards, to guarantee its efficiency, is extremely notable, especially for rural communities where their municipalities do not guarantee this basic service as stipulated by law, forcing them to take initiatives such as the creation of associations to control their systems. This work deepened knowledge about water supply, analyzed and diagnosed the effectiveness of a rural supply system, mainly in its water quality, reservoir and distribution network, together with the design of a new supply system. To meet the demands of consumption points, with adequate pressures and flows. For cost analyzes of the alternatives proposed to solve the problems, the SINAPI table (national system for researching civil construction costs and indices) was used as a price basis. The issue of problems in reserving storage capacity to serve the population was raised. The distribution network is made up of four independent networks and the load loss values, speeds and pressures for each of them were determined. Proposing three alternatives for optimizing the system, the first being the replacement of pipes according to the diameters established by the regulations, the second the interconnection of distribution networks and the third the installation of pressure reducing valves and pumps, this proved to be the correct one, as it proved to be the best technical and economic solution.
