PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC PERFORMANCE IN ATHLETES WITH PLANTAR FASCITIS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Introduction: Injuries resulting from sport directly affect the athlete's performance and can affect different body segments. Plantar fasciitis is a prevalent injury in sports and must be treated appropriately. Objective: the present study aims to analyze the role of physiotherapists in athletes with plantar fasciitis. Methodology: For this, searches were carried out in the Google Scholar, PUBMED and PEDro databases, using keywords related to the topic. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to select relevant studies published in the last 15 years. In the initial search, a total of 143 articles were found. Conclusion: The importance of physiotherapy in the sports field is undeniable, developing above all, work aimed at greater athlete performance, in addition to the treatment and prevention of injuries, through physiotherapeutic interventions, diagnosis and evaluation, being essential in health and in the process of athletes and their safe return to sport.
