Demodectic mange is a dermatopathy caused by an obligatory cutaneous parasite, that is, it is part of the skin's natural microbiota. This disease develops due to several factors, such as a compromised immune system and an increase in the animal's parasite population. It generally affects young animals with compromised immune systems, causing alopecia, scaling, crusting, hair loss and skin lesions. Demodicosis is divided into localized and generalized. Diagnosis is made through skin scrapings. The objective of this work is to report a case of a 12-year-old dog, SRD, who arrived for care presenting skin lesions. When carrying out the exams, the presence of the Demodex canis parasite was observed, with the diagnosis being generalized demodicosis, the patient underwent a long period of treatment showing significant improvement over the course of treatment.
