This article addresses the role of the Dental Surgeon within the hospital environment, focusing on improving the quality of life of users in Brazil, after 2004. Since, neglect of the oral health of hospitalized patients will cause damage to the general health of the patient. even, thus extending the length of hospital stay. Thus, the problem of this work consists of: How can the dental surgeon act on the quality of life of users of hospital services? And with the general objective of knowing the activities carried out by the dental surgeon in the hospital environment to increase the quality of the service. In this sense, the specific objectives consist of contextualizing the importance of the Dental Surgeon in the hospital environment, surveying studies that point out the relationship between oral diseases and the systemic condition of hospitalized patients and presenting the main problems faced in the routine of the Dental Surgeon in hospitals. The methodology adopted is based on a bibliographical review of scientific articles and relevant books and with a qualitative approach. Finally, with the results of this study, the importance of the role of the Dental Surgeon with the multidisciplinary team within the hospital environment through oral health care becomes evident, effectively contributing to the improvement of the patients' clinical condition.
