ANALYSIS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING IN BRAZIL

Cervical cancer (CC) is a serious public health problem and the third most common tumor in the female population between 15 and 44 years old, behind only breast and colorectal cancer, and the fourth most common cause of death in women. women due to cancer in Brazil. Objective: to analyze the relevance and importance of early screening for cervical cancer in Brazil. Methods: integrative review with a descriptive-qualitative approach in electronic databases (Scielo), (PUBMED), (MEDLINE) and (VHL). The articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: After searching the databases, a total of 4,086 articles were located, of which 2,637 were in PubMed, 1,226 in VHL, 200 in Scielo and 23 in LILACS. Of these, 10 articles met all established inclusion criteria and were selected to compose the study sample. Conclusion: early detection of CC is relevant for reducing the incidence and mortality of women, through educational actions by health professionals.
