DENTAL SURGEON'S PERFORMANCE IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH CANCER IN BRAZIL - FROM 2013 TO 2023

The present study aims to present evidence on the role of the dental surgeon in the treatment of cancer patients in Brazil, from 2013 to 2023. The problem addressed will be: What is the role of the dental surgeon in the treatment of cancer patients? In this context, it will present a general objective of analyzing the role of the dental surgeon in relation to cancer patients, as well as their performance in relation to the impacts caused by the treatment, and how they can be minimized. With specific objectives: Contextualize the importance of the dental surgeon during head and neck therapy; Understand the effects of early cancer diagnosis; Present the clinical characteristics that assist in primary differential diagnosis and palliative care. In this segment, the methodology is based on bibliographical research, qualitative, documentary approach, articles and literature regarding the subject. Therefore, the research is expected to develop an approach to include DC in cancer patients, as well as a multidisciplinary team, proving its effectiveness before, during and after treatment. Thus, informing readers and listeners, based on the data that will be discussed, the role of the dental surgeon in this scenario and the importance of their work with cancer patients.
