BENEFIT OF VIBRATION ANALYSIS IN THE INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

For large industries, it is extremely necessary to guarantee the integrity of the machines and equipment belonging to the system, considering that their non-availability has a negative impact on the production process. This situation has a great influence on the results of a company, which requires machines to be in continuous operation. As an example, we have large steel companies that lose and stop earning millions of reais because of unexpected stops of crucial equipment in production, which in turn are caused by failures. However, these stops can be avoided or predicted through predictive maintenance techniques that identify potential failures (still in their initial stages) enabling equipment maintenance to be carried out before a functional failure occurs (already established). There are several predictive techniques and the sooner it is possible to detect a potential failure, the more efficient the technique is. Therefore, throughout the article, the Vibration Analysis technique will be specifically addressed, one of the most efficient, and mainly the benefits and results obtained through it.
