Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is characterized by an abnormal dilation of its diameter exceeding 50% of the normal value. In most cases, AAA presents in its asymptomatic form, leading to a delay in diagnosis. This pathology is mainly associated with individuals over 65 years of age and with other dysfunctions associated with this condition. Treatment may include expectant, medical or surgical management depending on the size and location of the aneurysm. The choice between open or endovascular correction is based on factors such as: age, patient life expectancy and anatomical aspects. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the morbidity and mortality of abdominal aortic aneurysm repair according to the method chosen for treatment. As a result, there were no significant statistics between the outcomes of patients undergoing open or endovascular repair. However, a shorter hospitalization time could be observed in endovascular surgical correction.
