Abstract

This article aims to highlight and present the genetic diversity of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in patients with Covid 19 with the aim of enriching the scientific field by aiming for a larger database on the topic. The methodology used was bibliographical research, of a qualitative nature, involving an interpretative approach with the purpose of seeking knowledge and filtering on the specific topic. The results showed that the reactivation of the EBV virus is related in some cases of long Covid as well as being related in certain circumstances of immunological stress. The data reveal that both viruses are related to each other, as well as to other pathologies mainly in the nasopharyngeal tract, however the incidence of this phenomenon varies from patient to patient, and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship and reactivation of EBV and COVID-19.
