Abstract

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a blood component that has a significantly higher concentration of platelets compared to whole blood. Platelets play a crucial role in coagulation and wound healing. PRP is obtained through a centrifugation process of the patient's own blood, where a blood sample is taken and then subjected to centrifugation to separate the different blood components. The resulting plasma, which contains a high concentration of platelets, is then isolated and used for therapeutic purposes. The aim of this work is to carry out a literature review in scientific databases such as Scielo, Lilacs and Scholar, with the aim of elucidating the importance, benefits, as well as the possible positive and negative aspects of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in the field of aesthetics. After analyzing and synthesizing the articles, the literature review concluded that the use of blood plasma in aesthetics represents a promising and highly beneficial approach for patients. It provides a promising and safe alternative for those seeking to improve their appearance and self-confidence, offering natural and long-lasting results.
