Abstract

Radiofrequency is widely used in the area of aesthetics to treat a variety of skin concerns, weight loss, increase performance and improve appearance. In view of the above, the present work aims to carry out a review of the scientific literature in order to understand the effect of radiofrequency in reducing measurements in practitioners of physical activities, through the search for articles in databases, such as PubMed, Scientific Electronic Online Library (Scielo), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (Lilacs) and Virtual Health Library (VHL). Studies have demonstrated that Radiofrequency has biological effects that include vasodilation, improved oxygenation, increased permeability of the cell membrane, facilitated drainage of cellular waste and, consequently, reduced levels of free radicals and intracellular fluids. Furthermore, radiofrequency stimulates the immune system and promotes the production of higher quality collagen fibers.
