LAW 13,431/17: ADVANCES IN THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS THROUGH LISTENING PROTECTED AGAINST REVITIMIZATION IN CASES OF VIOLENCE

Abstract

This article sought to explore the effectiveness of Law 13,431/2017, which presents the application of protected listening as a fundamental element to protect the dignity of children and young people who experience or witness some form of violence. The importance of this study lies in its contribution to the improvement of listening procedures and the knowledge it provides to society. The central purpose is to evaluate whether the new procedures adopted for protected listening effectively reduce the revictimization of these children. To achieve this objective, a deductive method with an exploratory research approach was used. The results indicate that protected listening is a valuable tool in the hearing process, supported by solid evidence. This research represents a significant contribution to the understanding of protected listening in preserving these rights. Emphasizing the need for public policies and societal awareness to ensure safer and more secure care for all future generations. This contribution highlights the importance of protecting the rights of children and adolescents, highlighting the commitment to building a safer and more welcoming society.
