MORAL HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE: LEGAL ANALYSIS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSEQUENCES

Violence of all kinds is increasingly present in all areas of society, making countless victims and triggering various problems in people's physical and mental health. In this way, in the work environment, violence is present, taking the form of moral harassment, it should be noted that numerous transformations have occurred in the working relationship between employee and employer, the pursuit of meeting goals and productivity tend to generate abusive practices in many situations. that violate workers' rights, constituting moral harassment. Therefore, this problem has been widely discussed in the area of law and also in the psychological field, in this step, this work has the scope to analyze the phenomenon of moral harassment in the work environment and the psychological damage resulting from harassment. Another point to be analyzed is the performance of corporations in the prevention and identification of harassing actions. The proposed research is of a bibliographical nature, and, for its construction, articles, monographs, books, magazines and other sources that address the subject will be used, such documents were searched on digital platforms such as Google Scholar, Scielo, repositories and virtual libraries. It is added that the selected documents were analyzed through a qualitative approach. From the analysis of the materials, it is concluded that workplace bullying is a very recurrent problem and requires legislation that acts more effectively in dealing with this practice, given that bullying can affect the mental health of the worker. Finally, it is important that companies and other entities that work in the labor area develop preventive and reactive actions that help in dealing with moral harassment.
