Botulinum Toxin type A, commonly known as “Botox”, is produced by a gram positive bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, it acts on neurotransmitters, controlling or inhibiting the stimulation of some functions in the body. It has been widely used both in aesthetic treatments and in therapeutic treatments. This study is a bibliographic review, with a qualitative approach, which aimed to identify the most diverse uses of Botulinum Toxin Type A through studies published in the last 10 years. The results demonstrated that Botulinum Toxin Type A has a range of therapeutic uses, such as in hyperhidrosis, cerebral palsy, severe dysphagic disorders, etc. Based on the studies mentioned above, it is clear the different uses of Botulinum Toxin Type A, which when used correctly promotes satisfaction for patients who use it.
