This article addresses the geopolitical impacts of the new Cold War, with an emphasis on hydrocarbon issues. It explores the West's economic warfare strategy, including sanctions and trade embargoes against Russia, with a focus on the Ukraine conflict. It looks at the critical role of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the relationship between Russia and Germany, as well as the evolution of alternative payment systems, such as CIPS, amid discussions of de-dollarization. It highlights NATO's involvement in global energy security, while the global economy faces changes in the dynamics of foreign currency reserves and the possibility of de-dollarization. These developments shape the global geopolitical and economic landscape, influencing relations between nations.
