Alimony is an institution of fundamental importance and, therefore, indispensable for the child's subsistence. Mainly due to the fact that over the years, the family entity has ceased to be a fundamental part of people's lives, making the institution of divorce to be considered a common and commonplace act. Making the human fruit arising from this relationship, now extinct, start to need even more means that can satisfy their needs due to being people incapable of paying for themselves. Based on this contextualization, the main objective that will contribute to the preparation of the future article is to demonstrate the legal implications of the institution of alimony, especially when dealing between parents and children. Regarding the methodology used, bibliographic methods were used in order to analyze the thoughts of the most renowned authors. Allowing us to reach the conclusion that the limitations imposed in cases of food obligations, generating the extinction of the duty to support, in certain situations become extremely legitimate, especially when talking about unworthy acts carried out against the feeding parent, be it the father or the mother, leading them to situations that go against their honor and good reputation. The issue of majority must be analyzed case by case.
