This paper discusses the invisibility of rural women's work in Medicilândia/PA and its impacts on retirement through rural work. Despite the increased presence of women in agricultural activities, women continue to be neglected, with their work labeled as mere 'help', even as they perform responsibilities similar to those of men. In addition to agricultural tasks, they also take on housework and childcare. This reductionist categorization devalues women's work, and ignores its significant contribution. This study aims to examine the need to implement policies that facilitate the verification of women's rural activity in order to ensure their full access to social security benefits, promoting gender equity and adequate financial security. The specific context of Medicilândia is explored, where family migration had women playing a crucial role in the domestic organization and settlement of the region. However, political, ideological and social structures relegate the female figure to a secondary role in agriculture, despite its importance. This study raises questions about the equality of retirement conditions between rural men and women, considering their invisibility and vulnerability in the work context. It seeks to promote a deeper understanding of working and retirement conditions, aiming at gender equity and full recognition of the role of rural women in society.
