CYBER CRIMES A CONSIDERATION ON LAW 14,155 OF 2021 APPLICABLE TO THE CRIME OF VIRTUAL SCAMMER

This article sought to discuss cybercrimes, considering Law 14,155 of 2021 applicable to the crime of virtual fraud. This study is relevant both to society and to the field of law, as it offers a reflective analysis and preventive measures designed to contribute to reducing the number of victims of scams perpetrated by virtual fraudsters. The general objective of this work was to analyze the recent change brought about by Law 14,155 of 2021 regarding the crime of virtual embezzlement, adopting the methodology of legal work and the deductive method, in addition to the exploratory technique through analysis and literature review covering research and studies associated with the topic in question. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the changes brought by Law No. 14,155 of 2021 were of paramount importance in helping to combat virtual crimes, as said law attributed greater criminal responsibility to the active subjects of virtual fraud. However, it is imperative to maintain a continuous process of reviewing legislation, developing public policies aimed at combating cyber crimes, implementing security technologies, offering training to users and carrying out police operations.
