The aim of this article was to understand the relationship between the importance of pre-hospital care and reducing the length of hospital stay in patients treated in emergencies. Efficient pre-hospital care is essential for improving health outcomes and optimizing the use of hospital resources. The methodology adopted was a bibliographic review, using an integrative approach and involving the research and analysis of scientific articles published in national and international journals, focusing on pre-hospital care and its impact on the length of hospital stay. The results indicated that the importance of pre-hospital care is directly related to reducing the length of hospital stay. Studies analyzed demonstrated that effective and timely interventions in pre-hospital care can avoid complications, reduce the need for invasive interventions and, consequently, reduce hospitalization time. In conclusion, the study revealed that the importance of pre-hospital care is crucial for reducing the length of hospital stay in patients treated in emergencies. It also highlighted the need for investments in research, training and public policies aimed at improving pre-hospital care and, consequently, improving health outcomes and the efficiency of the health system.
