The most frequent long bone fractures are tibial fractures. Breaks in the tibial shaft are mainly caused by high-energy trauma, the relevance of this injury depends on the location and nature of the fracture and patients should be evaluated for associated injuries. In adults, the primary treatment for fixation of diaphyseal tibial fractures is still with an intramedullary nail. The medial parapatellar access route is intended to make the procedure safer and with minimal damage to intra-articular structures, but the suprapatellar nail access route is also a safe technique. However, after the operation knee pain may occur with the presence of restriction of daily activities.
