Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has seen significant growth in recent years. This disease consists of kidney damage and progressive and irreversible loss of kidney functions (glomerular, tubular and endocrine), being responsible for approximately 850,000 deaths annually, being classified as 12 ° biggest cause of death worldwide. According to studies on renal replacement therapy (RRT) carried out in January 2009 in Brazil, 77,589 patients underwent dialysis and approximately 405 to 144 per million in the population corresponded to (ESRD) end-stage chronic kidney disease (SILVA et al., 2015).
