PEDOPHILIA: A DEVASTATING EVIL ON THE INNOCENCE AND PURITY OF THE CHILD AND THE ACTION OF THE STATE

Abstract

The article entitled “Pedophilia: a Devastating Evil in the Innocence and Purity of the Child and the Action of the State”, has as its main purpose to awaken the State and Society regarding the growing rates of this type of criminal offense, in addition to addressing the State structure created to act in the face of this type of violence in the national territory. This practice has left devastating damage and sequelae in its victims, and sometimes such victims end up becoming abusers in their adult stage. It is important to highlight that child sexual abuse is a problem with historical roots, perpetuating itself over time and becoming a legal, moral and social problem. It will be punctuated within the historical context, how negligent the State was in defending these victims of this type of violence, in this way, the perpetrators of child sexual abuse ended up being benefited for decades while the victims were totally unassisted, suffering all kinds of emotional damage, psychological, physical and moral. There will also be an approach to the evolution in the legal environment, showing the achievements achieved in this area, achievements that began to guarantee the rights of victims of crimes of this nature. Within the present theme, it will be treated about the consequences left in the victims of child sexual violence, seeking to understand why such victims seek silence instead of denouncing their abusers, thus emerging the "Secret Syndrome". Finally, the advances of the State in the fight against pedophilia will be listed, also proposing an improvement in the existing State structure. The research method used was bibliographical and documentary exploratory, using works on the subject, in addition to documents available on websites, using both the qualitative and quantitative approaches.
