THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PSYCHOLOGIST IN THE JUDICIARY

The present study aims to understand the importance of psychologists in the judiciary, highlighting their contributions and areas of activity within Legal Psychology. Furthermore, it aims to understand what Legal Psychology is and how it interrelates with Law, revealing its definitions and historical path. Throughout this study, it is shown how Psychology influences Law, and how Law, at the same time, needs Psychology, showing the interdisciplinarity between these two areas. The psychologist in the judiciary plays a very important role, as he becomes a link between the understanding of human behavior and the decision-making of judges in different judicial cases, and his presence is exceptionally indispensable in Family Law. The method used to carry out this work was bibliographical research, with an emphasis on theorists who address the theme explained here. The results show how indispensable the judicial psychologist is to the area of Law today, working in different areas in the judicial system.
